TRIBE MARTIAL ARTS FOUNDATION

TRIBE Martial Arts Foundation is a non profit organisation, based in Sunninghill South Africa, we aim to empower women, youth, and children from under-resourced communities through self-defence training, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), skills development, and access to education. Our programmes are designed to break the cycle of gender-based violence (GBV), youth unemployment, and lack of educational opportunity by creating safe spaces where participants build confidence, resilience, and real-world skills. We work with communities in areas such as Diepsloot, Orange Grove, Rabie Ridge, Alexandra, and surrounding rural regions to ensure that children and mothers have access to structured physical and emotional empowerment.

Women in our programme are trained to become qualified BJJ instructors, giving them the ability to earn an income and become leaders within their communities. Children receive daily martial arts training alongside academic support aligned with the South African curriculum, meals, and transport, ensuring they are supported holistically.

What we do

By combining self-defence training, GBV response initiatives, and education empowerment, TRIBE Martial Arts Foundation creates lasting social impact, fostering safer communities and stronger individuals.
